At The B. Box we strive to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment, drenched in love and wrapped in kindness and support.
While in doing so we aim not only to share the art and disciplines of dance, but also to supply dancers with inspiring and progressive training opportunities both inside and outside of the studio that will move them and grow them as humans and dancers from the inside out.
It is our hope and objective that by providing meaningful activity through dance in an evocative space, we will encourage confidence and individual artistry and bolster boundless opportunity for passionate young people with ambitious appetites.
Our Mission
Where should my child start?
Currently, Brittany works actively in her studio, organizing annual showcases, directing the competitive and performance team (BBCB), and teaching 10 to 15 Classes per week. When she not in the studio, Brittany loves to spend time with her family. She loves animals (especially her two dogs and four cats), the outdoors and music.
Brittany is a Colorado native and is the owner and creative director of The B. Box. She grew up in Cañon City and spent her youth with the dream of becoming a dance instructor and owning a dance school for kids to call a second home.
As a teenager, dancing and student teaching kept her busy, healthy and focused on creating. After high school, Brittany attended CSU in Fort Collins, CO where she danced on the Golden Poms dance team. She then moved to Florida where she continued to expand her training through taking classes at various studios and teaching dance at a performing arts center.
After moving back to Colorado in 2007, Brittany taught at a local studio in Florence where she continued to develop her passion for teaching and her students. Meanwhile, she took courses in early childhood that would enrich the quality of her classes and understanding of teaching young children. She has an accumulated 24 years of teaching experience and 29 years of dance experience.
Brittany loves and values the people she meets through her career in dance and the continuous learning and evolution that she experiences as a dance instructor and studio owner, season after season.

Meet The B. Box Team
Hannah was born and raised in Cañon City, Colorado. She is an 18 year old senior at Cañon City High School and began dancing at the age of 2. Hannah has been a student teacher at The B. Box since fall of 2019. She loves teaching her students, getting closer to them each week and watching them grow as dancers. She enjoys hanging with her friends and family outside of dance. After high school she plans to go to college to pursue her dreams in dental hygiene.

Kristy was raised in Colorado where she has been dancing for 33 years. She was a competitive dancer until the age of 18 when she went and danced with CU and UNC. She started teaching dance while attending UNC, and hasn’t stopped since. Kristy has a passion for dance and sharing that passion with the kids in this community. She has been with The B. Box since 2015. She loves her husband, two kids, teaching dance, teaching barre, and being with friends and family.

Alicia was born and raised in Cañon City. She received her BFA in Dance at the University of Arizona. She has been a dance instructor for the last 18 years. She is involved in choreographing for other various programs throughout the community, as well as teaching adult barre and pilates classes. She is a K-8 music teacher within the Fremont RE-1 school district. In her free time she likes to spend time with her husband and four kids, workout, dance, and enjoy outdoor activities!

What Parents Are Saying
We currently offer weekly classes to 85 eager young athletic artists ages 3 to 18. Our recreational weekly class program is a thriving portion of that enrollment. The school year calendar has evolved from one, to now offering two seasonal showcases, Winter and Spring.
The B. Box opened in Cañon City, Colorado, in December of 2014 with 35 young and eager new students. Flash forward to nearly a decade later, December of 2023, and we now enroll more than double the blessings.
We proceed with forward momentum each season and are committed to the continuous evolution and improvement of our programs quality and diversity through a progressive mindset and outside of the box thinking.
Our program has also expanded to include BBCB (B. Box Company B), a performance and competition company that trains committed and aspiring young dancers at a high level.
We are grateful to be the sole host in Fremont county for in house masters instructors, weekend clinics and guest choreographers from the L.A. area and across the country, providing progressive and inspiring training for our dancers and instructors.
Fun summer camps and partnerships with local businesses have helped enrich our summer training opportunities.
Our Bee-ginings

Cue the question at hand…what does a bee have to do with dancing? Prepare to be enlightened.
Why the bees you ask? I know, I know. When first heard, our studio name is often mistaken for “The Beat Box”, which I admit makes total sense so it’s ok, but it’s just not the case. We are The B. (singular letter followed by a dot) Box.
Where Our Name Came From...
So, what’s the buzz with all the Bees?
Bees are one of the few creatures on this planet, alongside humans, who “dance” to communicate They do something called the waggle dance and they use this dance to direct each other during pollination.
Bees then return to a hive at nightfall where they create their honey.
We return to our studio space, (a “B. Box”) each evening and create our “honey,” our dance craft.
Bees work as a team, as a family really.
At The B. Box, we do the same.
Plus, bees are graceful and strong and they can come with a sting.
We coach our dancers to be strong yet graceful, and fierce.
